May 15-17, 2026, Old Timey Casting, LLC will be hosting a Living History, Officer’s & NCO School and Drill Weekend at the Genesee Country Village and Museum.
The weekend will include children’s drill activities, weapons demonstrations, and uniform/equipment displays for the public.
For our living historians, we will coordinate high-quality drill sessions with some of the best in the Civil War hobby. We will have an inspector general to oversee that everyone’s impressions are up to the standards of the Army of the Potomac, as well as camp inspections. Recommendations will be given to help improve your overall kit, if needed.
While the privates are being drilled, we will be running scheduled school sessions for Non-Commissioned and Commissioned officers. The specific lessons are being fleshed out, currently.
You will not want to miss this event. The battle event may be over for now, but let’s utilize this wonderful 19th Century village to maximize your portrayal.
All Infantry will be portraying Company “C” of the 100th New York Infantry “The Eagle Regiment”, as they would be in May 1862.
Artillery will form Battery “L” 1st NY Light Artillery.
Cavalry will form Company “K” 1st NY Cavalry.
Civilians are encouraged to join us, as we are currently working on plans for the Civilians!
